As the General Manager, you’ll drive growth by increasing our market share in the Southampton area and driving fresh oil sales. 

Striving to engage and motivate employees, you’ll find ways to further enhance the site’s culture and performance in regards to health, safety, environment and quality standards. 

You’ll identify unique selling points to increase sales of services and develop a strategy for supply and collection activities with the regional Operations Manager. Additionally, you’ll introduce new and enhanced Lean processes throughout the depot to improve operations. 

Your other duties will include: 

- Minimising collection, delivery and haulage costs 
- Facilitating growth in the region by increasing the company’s market share 
- Developing direct reports 
- Assisting the Operations Manager with ad hoc projects

To be considered, you will need: 

- Previous experience in operations/transport, asset management, customer service and sales
- A proven track record of building, developing and engaging a location/depot 
- A good understanding of management accountancy techniques 

Ideally, the successful candidate will also have:

- At least five years’ experience in the waste industry 
- An IOSH qualification or equivalent
