Are you looking for the chance to earn AND learn? Want to pursue a rewarding career in logistics but can’t spare the time and money for the licences? If so, this Class 2 driving apprenticeship is perfect for you.
Olleco is the UK’s leading resource recovery company. With 14 depots across the country and over 150 vehicles on the roads, you could be part of a thriving network and play a pivotal role in helping us make a greener future.
We are now on the hunt for an enthusiastic Trainee Driver to join our team in Southall and support our Drivers whilst learning everything there is to know about multi-drop deliveries and driving a Class 2 vehicle.
As a Trainee Driver, you will be tasked with assisting a Driver with the delivery and collection of fresh and used cooking oil throughout a daily route.
Your training will take between six and twelve months, during which you will act as a Driver’s Mate, effectively shadowing a Driver on a daily basis and developing an in-depth understanding of the position and what it entails.
Whilst supporting the Driver, you will be the face of the company and will deal directly with customers during deliveries. You will work with a Driver on a daily basis, as well as health and safety professionals, Driver Trainers, other Drivers and colleagues within the depot.
The result of your apprenticeship will involve becoming fully trained as a Class 2 Driver which comes with a significant pay rise alongside a Class 2 driving licence.
This is an exciting opportunity to learn a challenging skill-set alongside dedicated professionals where the learning aspects are very hands-on and you will earn a strong basic wage whilst you learn.
Interested? To be considered, you will need:
- Customer-facing experience
- A driving licence without any DR10 or IN10 (or equivalent) licence offence codes and with no more than 6 points
Diligent, enthusiastic and eager to learn, as a Trainee Driver, you will need to be able to pick up new skills quickly, possess strong communication skills and a team player mentality and have a focus on the customer experience.
Ideal candidates will have experience as a driver’s mate in a multi drop, delivery role, however this is by no means essential.
